TP-Link TL-PA8030P KIT AV1200 Powerline Kit review: This powerline adapter kit has 3 Ethernet ports

Powerline networking shines at streaming media applications, but most HomePlug adapters support only one network device, and today’s home entertainment centers may have two, three, or more. The TP-Link TL-PA8030P KIT addresses the issue with a pair of high-performance HomePlug AV2 MIMO adapters that have three ethernet ports instead of the usual one.

TP-LINK TL-PA8030P KIT 3-Port Gigabit Passthrough Powerline Starter Kit Reviewed

Powerline adapters can extend your Ethernet network via power wiring instead of running Category 5E / 6 cable. While you won't get the performance of Ethernet, the new breed of HomePlug AV2 MIMO adapters can provide ~ 450 Mbps of total throughput with multiple traffic sources. Powerline also tends to be more stable and have lower latency than many wireless connections.

Netgear Powerline 1200 review: Top power line speed at a low cost

The Netgear Powerline 1200 kit (model PL1200-100PAS) won't deliver the on-paper (and honestly, quite mythical) top speed of 1,200Mbps advertised by Netgear. It won't even get close to that. However, that doesn't mean it's not fast. In my testing, it edged out the Comtrend PG-9172 G.hn to be the fastest power line kit to date. And at just $80 for a set of two adapters, it's also one of the cheapest.
