TP-LINK AV1200 Review

Now with AV1200 we can get he full benefit of most home internet speeds (we tested up to 200mb with no issue) and our internal network speed more than doubled. Speeds will of course vary depending on your own router, server, drives however like for like, we would say you should assume the AV1200 will be a little over 2x faster than (as an example) AV500.

"Old-school" tech still does the trick

...as with the HomePlug networking and INSTEON (and X10) home automation gear that I've written about before, they leverage the existing power distribution backbone in a home to act as a carrier for phone data, too.

Broadcom Introduces A Range of New Products for the Chinese TV Market

A complete high-speed coaxial cable solution with new access technology for Chinese subscribers in multi-dwelling units (MDUs). The new chipsets (BCM63500 and BCM63333) allow Chinese cable operators to extend broadband services to home subscribers outside of China’s major coastal cities, particularly in densely-populated apartment buildings which are the under-served segment of the MDU market. Broadcom’s chipsets integrate the China HomePlug AV 1.0 standard endorsed by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, the Chinese government agency overseeing broadcasting in the region, to provide operators with an economical solution for broadband services over cable.
