Intellon Corporation Surpasses 30 Million Shipment Milestone for Powerline Networking ICs

Shipments support leading consumer electronics and service provider customers in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

Orlando, Fla., November 11, 2008 - Intellon Corporation (Nasdaq: ITLN), a leading provider of HomePlug®-compatible integrated circuits (ICs) for home networking, networked entertainment, Ethernet-over-Coax (EoC) and smart grid applications, announced that it has now shipped over 30 million advanced powerline communications integrated circuits (ICs). Intellon's powerline portfolio includes a family of HomePlug-based ICs as well as ICs used in the transportation industry.

Intellon's ICs are used around the globe by over 45 major cable, telephone and satellite service providers such as AT&T, Canal+, Chunghwa Telecom, DirecTV, Dish Network, France Telecom, Free (Iliad Group), H3C, KDDI, KT (formerly Korea Telecom), Neuf Cegetel, PCCW, Telecom Italia, Telenet and SingTel. Major consumer electronics makers with products based on the company's ICs include Actiontec, Asoka, Aztech, Belkin, D-Link, devolo AG, IOGEAR, LEA, Linksys, Logitech, Monster, NETGEAR, Sharp, Siemens, Sling Media, SMC Networks, ST&T Corporation, Sumitomo Electric, Telkonet and ZyXEL. Transportation customers include Bendix, Meritor WABCO and Haldex.

Intellon's HomePlug-based powerline communications ICs allow end users to turn home or office electrical wiring into a high-speed network for the distribution of high definition and standard definition television (HDTV, SDTV), Internet protocol TV (IPTV), Over-the-Top (OTT) video, and high-bandwidth Internet and file sharing. Intellon-based products can be used to connect a wide variety of products - including home gateways and routers, personal computers, set-top boxes, digital media adapters, flat-screen TVs, game consoles and security cameras - without having to install new wiring.

"Our technology brings instant, high-bandwidth networking to homes using the existing electrical wiring, which is increasingly important as more and more consumer electronics devices are connected within a home," said Rick Furtney, president and COO of Intellon Corporation. "Whether it's fast Internet access, bringing online movies from the Internet gateway to the family room, playing favorite music throughout the house, playing online games in different locations or showing family photos and video from the computer room to the living room, that's what this technology is all about."
