Intellon Achieves Market Milestones in Shipments of Powerline Communications Integrated Circuits

More Than 5 Million HomePlug® ICs shipped to Major Service Providers, Networking and CE Companies Worldwide Confirming accelerating Global Adoption of Intellon's Proven HomePlug Solutions

OCALA, FL - April 11, 2006 - Intellon Corporation, the leading provider of HomePlugcompatible integrated circuits (ICs) for home networking, networked entertainment and broadband over powerline (BPL) applications, announced that it has shipped more than 10 million powerline communications (PLC) ICs to manufacturers and service providers worldwide, including more than five million ICs based on the global HomePlug standard. Sales of Intellon's HomePlug ICs are now running at a rate of more than one million per quarter. These significant product milestones reinforce Intellon's continued international leadership in powerline IC deployment, where the company has enabled more customers and sold more HomePlug powerline communications ICs than all other PLC IC vendors combined.

"Hitting this milestone signifies that the demand for reliable, secure and simple-to-use in-home entertainment networking silicon is on the rise," said IdaRose Sylvester, Senior Analyst at IDC. "It is expected that HomePlug-enabled product shipments will continue to increase, as the HomePlug technology adoption rate increases in a variety of consumer electronics platforms worldwide in 2006 and beyond."

"Simple and reliable connectivity is essential in the digital home, and the market is recognizing the value and convenience that Intellon's HomePlug-certified powerline solutions provide," said Charlie Harris, Intellon's Chairman and CEO. "With products based on Intellon's No New Wires® ICs, service providers and consumers across the globe can create instant plug-and-play networking over the existing electrical wiring in a home."

Consumer products using Intellon's HomePlug ICs are available at major retailers. More than 20 cable operators, telecom carriers and satellite and Wi-Max providers in Asia, Europe and North America are using Intellon-based products to install broadband modems and accelerate deployment of home networking and IPTV services.

Intellon solutions enable standalone and hybrid network topologies for whole-home connectivity, operating over coax as well as powerlines and offering powerline, Wi-Fi, UWB and coax bridges for increased network flexibility.

Intellon's new HomePlug AV-based IC will allow consumers and service providers to distribute high definition video and audio over existing in-home electrical wires, ushering in a whole new era of user-friendly entertainment connectivity.
