Arkados-powered Products Awarded "CES Best of the Best" Award from G4 Television and named CES Innovations Honorees

- Award-winning digital home products from Checkolite, Russound, and NuVo embed Arkados chips and software -

Arkados® (OTCBB:AKDS), a leading supplier of system-on-chip solutions for powerline networking, announces that Arkados chip-and-software solutions are embedded in three products that won awards at CES 2009. G4 Television awarded their CES Best of the Best award to
Checkolite's Light Speaker system
, a combined audio/lighting system for homes that is made possible by Arkados solutions. Additionally, the CES Innovations Awards recognized Russound's Collage, and NuVo's Renovia systems as honorees; both systems include Arkados system-on-chip

G4's annual awards highlight the top 15 items expected to have the most impact
from the field of 2,700 exhibitors, with an estimated 20,000 new technology products spanning 30 categories of consumer electronics products displayed at this year's CES show. 2009 marks the second consecutive year that products
incorporating Arkados' HomePlug® chips and software as their primary technology have been recognized at G4's annual "CES Best of the Best" awards ceremony.
Checkolite's Lamp/Speaker system was a winner in the Maximum Tech category.

Two Arkados customers, Russound and NuVo, received honoree status from the CES
Innovations awards:

  • Russound's Collage Powerline Media and Intercom system provides end-users
zone-to-zone intercom and complete multiroom access to digital audio entertainment and IP security cameras by way of a home's standard AC wiring.
  • NuVo's Renovia breaks new ground by using the electrical wiring already inside
the walls of a home to distribute audio and metadata to every room, while enabling users to view and control multiple audio sources from both control pads and remote controls.

"We are proud to see how our silicon and software have enabled our customers to
build award winning products," said Oleg Logvinov, president and CEO of Arkados.
"We believe that our next generation chip will allow an even broader product
spectrum, while providing backwards interoperability with existing products, and
products based on the IEEE 1901 draft specification."

These products are expected to ship later this year.
