Intellon's INT6400 Selected by Aztech for Eco-Friendly HomePlug AV Adapter for the Connected Digital Home

- New Aztech adapter saves up to 60 percent power consumption in standby mode and delivers 200 Mbps PHY-rate for entertainment-grade video/game networking over powerline.

Orlando, Fla., June 17, 2009 - Intellon Corporation (Nasdaq: ITLN), a leading provider of HomePlug®-compatible integrated circuits (ICs) for home networking, networked entertainment, Ethernet-over-Coax (EoC) and smart grid applications, announced that the Aztech Electronics' new eco-friendly powerline adapter uses Intellon's newest chipset, the HomePlug AV-based INT6400.

Aztech Electronics introduced the HL110E 200 Mbps HomePlug AV adapter to meet lower power consumption demands while still delivering the performance necessary for HD IPTV, IP camera, game console and other high speed networking applications over a home's existing electrical wiring. With the embedded INT6400 technology, the adapter detects when the Ethernet device connected to the adapter is shut down, automatically switching into energy-saving mode to deliver a 60 percent power savings.

"Intellon's HomePlug powerline technology revolutionizes the way computers, game consoles and other entertainment gadgets are connected in the home in an easy and fuss-free manner and our new, improved HL110E is a high-performance networking solution that also delivers energy-savings," said Michael Mun, Group CEO and Chairman of Aztech. "Connecting all your devices with the Aztech HL110E is easy and provides a secure, eco-friendly way to enjoy content streamed throughout the home."

"The INT6400 has the lowest power consumption of any HomePlug AV-class IC, meets European 2011 Code of Conduct requirements for adapters and delivers higher TCP throughput and improved Quality of Service (QoS), which is important for distribution of video around the home," said Rick Furtney, president and COO of Intellon. "Consumers want home connectivity that delivers entertainment-grade video and content sharing throughout their home, without having to install new wiring and without consuming a lot of power and this new INT6400-based Aztech powerline adapter meets those requirements."

The new Aztech HL110E has multi-LED indicators to help users quickly identify performance profiles. It also features "Simple Connect" security functionality that allows quick "pairing" of home adapters at a touch of the button to lock-out possible intruders with 128-bit AES encryption. With Intellon's HomePlug AV-based performance, the adapters have the bandwidth to support entertainment-grade video transfer, online gaming and other bandwidth-intensive applications.
